Default 'Läänemere isandad' - a novel about the Estonian viking age

This historical novel is written in 1936 by August Mälk, the 2nd most popular Estonian writer in the 1930's, only Anton Hansen Tammsaare was more popular than him back then.

In my opinion it's a good book and a Finnish translation of the book should be available (I'm not certain).

Here's a short summary of the book:

The novel's plot is related to the destroying of Sigtuna in 1187. Lehholinna (Lehho's town) grand elder's son Alar, who is on a trading trip in Sweden, meets a local noble's daughter Gyla and plans to rob her. The robbing is unsuccessful. Alar and Gyla meet again when Alar is raiding Sigtuna.

Romaani sündmustik on seotud Sigtuna hävitamisega 1187. aastal.

    What about Tammsaare?

I've always wanted to find something like the multi-generational trilogy by Väinö Linna (Täällä pohjantähden alla), but set in Estonia. I was once told, if I recall, that Tammsaare wrote something like that?

Truth and Justice (Estonian: Tõde ja õigus) is a pentalogy (5 books) by Anton Hansen Tammsaare, it is considered to be one of the foundational works in Estonian literature.

This should be available in English, French and many other languages.

I might translate Läänemere isandad into English and publish it in the future, if I ever have the time. But the thing is, I don't know anyone except Estonians and a handful of Finns who would like to read that book.

Yes, that was it! I'll see if I can find a translation.

Translating August Mälk's writing style into English would be a true feat, though.
