These old pictures are great, some of the people remind me of the Pamiri people from Tajikistan, same old European phenotypes i.e alpine, meds, Cro magnon influenced people and generally old European types, being broader headed/faced than the Spanish they actually look more distinctly European or possibly Berber and do not look middle eastern.

Officially Spaniards resemble the Kurds, some N Africans and Iraqis metrically speaking, their nasal index is more classically Mediterranean. Sardinians are slightly darker than Spaniards on average though i would say that both groups are basically quite dark.

If you talk about some "european looking" type of iraqi or kurd you are right, but that's not midly. Yes obviously sardinians have less light eyes/hair, but the skin pigmentation is almost the same I believe
