I voted for the first option, Jerusalem should have been kept as a religious fortress secured by a christian military order, and it should be a monastic self-governed place like Mount Athos.
But History has proven it should rather have been raised to the ground. No more promise land, no more holy wars. Like Saladin himself says in the film: "I wonder if it had not been better".

I was merely making a speculation. Never said that I wanted to nuke Jerusalem, I just wouldn't care too much if it happened to a Middle-Eastern holy city. I am quite aware of world politics, thank you very much.
I know you Semites are famous for taking everything too literally and being incapable of irony. Maybe that's why the Middle-East is a terminal shithole with endless wars...

Jerusalem will never be returned to the Christians. Heck the large majority of Evangelical Protestant Christians would like Israel in control of it, and they would love the rebuilding of the Holy Temple Mount, in which they would usher the coming of Christ. The Christians have lost their political power for the most part, except in the U.S where they also lobby for Israel like the group by John Hagee called Christians for Israel. In other words a Jewish Jerusalem is the same as a Christian Jerusalem!

All I've got to say is put your money where your mouth is and go get it. Otherwise what's the point. It's not like any of us has the political power to do it. So why debate something that will never happen?

You were making speculation and I informed you of the possible consequences. The fact is, no one would think of nuking Jerusalem, not the West nor the East, as it's sacred to both. If either side did nuke it, the world would be sprung into chaos. Jerusalem is politically more important than Paris, Madrid, Tokyo or New York (cities several times larger).
Please lord, this boy needs Jesus. Heal this child and help us destroy these demons.I know you Semites are famous for taking everything too literally and being incapable of irony. Maybe that's why the Middle-East is a terminal shithole with endless wars...

Since this is a hypothetical exercise in futility, if I had to pick, it would be cool for an independent Orthodox Church to take it over, say, the Armenian Church (friends of the Kurdish Yezidis, and oldest national Church), or the Copts. I voted also for the native Palestinian Christians. It will never happen though, none of these groups have enough political power. Jerusalem will always either be in the hands of the Jews, or supposing Israel gets pushed into the Red Sea, the Hammies.
All in all, people take that swimming pool way too seriously. It will probably end up playing a role in the end of us all, and there won't be any rapture. The world gone to Hell for a folktale.
