In France that would be a scandal. I believe it's still part of the Olympics protocol that the announcements are made in english, french and the local language.

An ex Wallaby here was saying he was expecting a big upset and thought it might be Ireland vs Tonga. I didn't agree with that as Ireland beat Samoa in a warm up game. I thought it might be more likely the Wallabies getting beaten. Unfortunately Australian rugby has gone backwards. It's a shame and sad really. I hope Australia can get up to play Wales although I would not be surprised at all to see a Welsh victory.

I'm super nervous about the South Africa vs Ireland game. That should be a real banger if it lives up to expectations.

If Fiji qualifies to the 1/4 finals expect that they will be promoted to the Tier I. This is getting ridiculous, it's like a small private club and it's preventing competitive tier 2 teams from making a serious jump in quality.

Samoa x Argentina can be also an upset for Samoa, specially after how they played against Ireland before the World Cup.

Would be fun to see both Samoa and Fiji advancing.

Ireland, France or SA to win. My favourite teams are Wales (I live here and have much of my ancestry here) and then Argentina (I want somewhere in the Hispanic world to do well, and generally I like Argentines anyway).

I agree, when the refs bark at the forwards in English it makes me cringe. It doesn't take much to get to know the basic calls in French, Italian or Spanish as well. As an English speaker it is really embarrassing.

I hope France win it by the way, either them or Ireland.
