How is it possible to look like a mestizo when you're 99% European + 1% Native?

While browsing r/23andme, I was shocked to see that some people with traces (2-3%) of non-European) could look like mestizos.

How can this be explained? Given that it's not at all unusual for someone who's 95% European + 5% African, for example, to look like a half-breed

There are plenty of Europeans with such features as well. Maybe not typically Spanish, but central Europeans show these features as well.

This guy looks more or less European, but atypical. I have been in North America (US and Canada) by the way. He doesn’t look typically Native or Indigenous American. His atypical look is tied to his multiple ancestries all over Europe added to some non-European ancestries ( Jewish, Indigenous American, Negro). However the European blood has the edge.

He would pass for Spanish though. However you are right. There are Central European with such appearances.

He doesn't look like a Mestizo. He has strong features and dark hair and eyes.

Most people From Spain and France have even more Pseudo Mongoloid Traits than his guy,In North and East Europe even more.I highly doubt that he inherited his NA traits, since Europeans usually have similar traits, even in areas like Iberia or France.

He's just Paleo-Atlantid. Very atypical Northern European, like Catherine Zeta-Jones, Josh Hartnett or Taylor Lautner. It's cazitos or mezitos who look like these people btw, not the other way around.
