Here it's considered to be extremely abnormal and not polite to speak non-Russian in public places, people will make remarks and reminders for this. Also, lots of people for example on phone say "I'm not alone, so I'm switching to Russian" already saying this phrase in Russian. Surely nobody kills for non-Russian language, but Russian is a must someway. Something like no one should speak something people around won't understand.

English or Spanish etc is ok somewhere in center of big cities, but it's very unpolite in random district of random town/city. Some grannies would be sentimental even towards this tho, surely no one would kill for this.

What about Armenian then? Is it extremely abnormal to speak Armenian in say a food market of Moscow or Stavropol? I don't ask if it's all right to speak Chechen in Grozny or something of that kind.

This reminded me of a story, I participated in a discussion in a closed FB group back in the day. There were people from all parts of the world, but mostly US Americans. They saw my name (which is normal Hungarian name, nothing Russian) and called me a "Russian troll" for arguing with them. My real locations was displayed on my profile too.

Anyone who believes what one person says about their experience in X place is making an error in logic since peope's experiences can differ. It doesn't mean the person is a liar. It means that a person is limited in their experience and has a limited perspective. If many people have similar experiences, or shown by the statistics, then you can say, "Well, it looks like there is an issue here."

That's how a rational person thinks.

I don't hear of real gang violence. I do know Irish Travellers are a problem. I also know they are a minor subset of the Irish and that Ireland - if looking at the statistics - is a safe country.

I have people - friends and acquaintances - tell me all sorts of things. I just don't believe what one person says unless it's verified by others who aren't known to speak without thought, or from my own research into the matter.
