What do Brazilians consider "white"?

50% of Brazil's population is "white".

If I said post white Brazilians, people would post people who were either of recent European descent or who are clearly of predominantly European descent and can pass in Europe. However, I work and live around many Brazilians and most fall into a look that could not fit in Europe, but is not admixed enough to warrant the labels "mulatto" or "triracial" or "mestizo". So are these people "white"?

Is 50% of Brazil's population white enough to pass as full European, or does it include these off-white, mixed types that are not overtly admixed but still noticeably non-European?

It might include some Pardos which is why the % of white Brazilians is decreasing since people are getting less ashamed of who they are.

I remember reading a story that said that Ronaldo considered himself white so there's that.

I have no idea, i suppose brazilian members will tell you better. But don't think they are a rarity.

Basically think of white Hispanic women. They are considered white even though some might not necessarily fit in Europe.

The average white Brazilian is ~80% European. Average black Brazilian is ~70% African.

Latin Americans have a bizarre concept of "whiteness", since their societies are built on interracial domination. I'd guess maybe 20% of the Brazilians, at most, are actually white by our standards.

I have far more respect for a self-admitted mestizo like Decimator, than a racially dubious creature who tries to pass off itself as "white" in order to climb the social ladder.

I know many of these in real life. I knew a half Dominican girl who called herself white, but she looked like a lighter Beyonce.
