    Great choices. Taxi Driver and the Shining are two of my all time favorite movies. However, I think the best movie of the 70s would have to be the Wicker Man.

    The Shootist (1976) was John Wayne's last film. Sad, but also one of his best.

    1980's:


    Hamburger Hill (1987) is not as well known, but is one of the best Vietnam War films.
