    Default Caucasian looking Japanese

    Japanese popular culture ideolises the European look. Just look at Japanese Animation to see how European most of the characters look. The Japanese were infamously made "honourary Aryans" by those wacky Nazis.

    It is true though that many Japanese do have Ainu or so called "Jomon" features which were the original proto-Caucasian inhabitants of Japan (and Siberia). Studies show that the upper classes of Japan, for instance the Samurai class, have heavy Jomon admixture and tend to have more European features such as aquiline noses that, for instance, Han Chinese entirely lack but do show up in many Japanese people. Semi-European looking people are also more prominant as models and actors in Japan so I thought it might be an interested thread.

    Please post your picures of "European looking" Japanese and discuss.

    This Ainu guy has been posted here before;

    My guess would be that those Japanese are insanely rare; so rare, in fact, that we can just classify them as statistical anomalies and move on.

    They are from Southern Japan and date back to the Paleomongoloid culture of the Jomon.

    Jomon Culture

    Reconstruction of a Jomon Type:

    Left: typical Yayoi , Right: Jomon

    Modern Examples of Jomon predominance:

    Mutsu Munemitsu

    Ken Hirai

    The Jōmon period (縄文時代 Jōmon jidai) is the time in Japanese prehistory from about 14,000 BC to about 300 BC, when Japan was inhabited by a Neolithic culture which reached a considerable degree of cultural sophistication, above all in pottery, despite limited development of agriculture and no use of metal.

    The relationship of Jōmon people to the modern Japanese and Ainu remains uncertain. Some consider the Japanese of today to be descended from a mixture of the ancient hunter-gatherer Jōmon culture and a largely different group who populated the later rice agriculture Yayoi culture. According to this theory these two major ancestral groups came to Japan over different routes at different times.

    I think westerners see it as idealizing Europeans.

    But if you look at the Europeans in Japanese animation they are also drawn crazy looking yellow eyes, purple eyes. The Caucasians also have funny shaped eyes that no westerner would ever have. So are the blacks. I don't think it has anything to do with self hate, they just have a more colorful way of drawing art than we do. Americans used to animate characters with large heads, and large eyes. Japanese took that, evolved it, and just stuck with it. Its just their style of drawing.

    Personally i think the characters look more like aliens than they do any race on earth. No group of people looks like people in anime lol.
    Send me dms asking me to classify you, i'll have Barbarianna of Barbaria here put a few holes in you. Then I'll take this guitar and smash it over your head.
