Surname is quite common in Slovenia (60th most common) and appears in every region. So she doesn't necessarily have Venetian ancestry.

I don't think she looks German at all and I've lived in Austria and been in Germany.

She looks Western Slavic to me, especially Slovene. I know many girls that look like her and most of my classmates did as well, regardless if they were blonde or brunette.

Slovenes look majority central European, but there are Balkan types as well, nothing surprising.

Ula's surname is just a regional one, it doesn't denote ethnicity. Many Slavs in the region, especially Catholic have Italian influenced names, since Italy was the regional power here for centuries.

I completly agree.
Also my opinion is that Slovenes in generally look more West Slavic (Slovakian and Czech) than South Slavic. I was looking photos from clubs in Slovakia and most people could be Slovenian.

Indeed, many Poles could easily pass for Slovenes as well.

I personally believe that despite sharing borders with the Balkans, Slovenia in general is much more Western than South Slavic. Anyone being familiar with Slovene mentality, language and traditions can confirm this.
