These girls chose to be in the films. They're attractive women and so it's not like they couldn't get jobs as waitresses, bartenders, strippers, etc. They made their choice because they liked the money. If they regret it later that's too bad but like anything in life choices have consequences. If they were fooled into the life, they should have researched it first before taking a shot.

The spread of HIV in porn can be blamed on male actors who do both straight porn and gay for pay as well as bisexual men who hire these men and women as escorts. In the past and probably now to some degree some male actors jumped back and forth between straight and gay films. Men get paid far better in gay porn.

It's very difficult to get HIV. Anal sex, blood transfusion (never a cause anymore because of screening), and sharing needles with an HIV infected person is how you typically get HIV. The tissue around the anus is sensitive and can be easily torn during anal sex. This allows for infection and hence why HIV/AIDS effects gay men at disproportionate numbers.

Girls who end up doing porn already had mental issues before getting into such industry, due being raped, serious family problems or any mental illness not caused by an external circumstance. A healthy minded girl never will do it.

The same goes with prostitutes (well, porn actress are prostitutes as they have a sex in exchange for money).

Get a girlfriend or improve your self control. I'm not sure whether the latter can be achieved or are you just born with it, but you can always try.

You're still going to watch porn.

If I had decided to become a porn producer none of that stuff would have gone on. I wouldn't accept anyone with a heroin addiction. It's not difficult to find out. They nod off and of course they have track marks. I'd only allow anal sex with a condom and wouldn't demand anything from them they didn't want to do (however, the more "exotic" the act the more money; an incentive). I'd play fair with these girls and so they'd want to sign up with me. I wouldn't even have sex with them, which is typical of porn producers. They sleep with them first before allowing them to be on film because men are, um, men but that creates an environment where there is no trust. Despite the temptation I wouldn't want to build a working relationship with someone who resented me. Despite the fact I'm totally attractive and every woman naturally wants to have sex with me or they're butch lesbians a woman who feels forced into sex to move ahead in achieving her goal is going to be resentful. You can't build a good working relationship with that baggage.

As Schopenhauer said: " Everyone ultimately reaches port with masts and rigging gone". Some sooner rather than later.

They chose to do porn. They were not forced. If conditions are unsatisfactory, they can leave porn scene. And many do.

Now, why do they choose to do it? I have no idea. If they do it for money, then most jobs have negatives attached. If it is a symptom of sick society, then society should change to eliminate it. By artificial prohibition, victims of sickness are punished. If their actions signify their moral depravity, then negatives are karma working. They may wanna die but are afraid to suicide, then indulgence is the compromise. Drugs to sex or sex to drugs are paths of down going.

These people have mental problems and it's easy for them not to take accountability for their own choices and to play a victim role when their time in the Porn spotlight has run out. I don't have any sympathy for them. Life is hard for most people.

Default The Industry's Dirty Little Secret

    The Industry's Dirty Little Secret

To viewers, pornography can appear a fantasy world of pleasure and thrills. To those who create and participate in making pornography, however, their experiences are often flooded with drugs, disease, rape and abuse. It’s not easy to know all the gritty details until someone with personal experience in the industry takes a step forward because the industry purposefully keeps it as secretive as possible. Here are some statements made by former porn stars.

“I got the *&%$ kicked out of me… most of the girls start crying because they’re hurting so bad… I couldn’t breathe. I was being hit and choked. I was really upset and they didn’t stop. They kept filming. [I asked them to turn the camera off] and they kept going." - Regan Starr

In order to prevent the police and the public from finding this out, however, it’s common for pornographers to intimidate or use blackmail as a weapon to silence the participants. Many former porn stars talk about being booked to do a scene and conditions would be changed on the spot, which often led to uncomfortable, abusive experiences. In a very real way, then, porn stars get treated like convenient cattle. They are lied to by the industries “doctors” about the prevalence of STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) and the majority abuse drugs to cope with their emotionally deteriorating lives.

"You’re viewed as an object and not as a human with a spirit. People don’t care. People do drugs because they can’t deal with the way they are being treated… Seventy-five percent (of porn stars)... are using drugs. They have to numb themselves. There are specific doctors in this industry that if you go in for a common cold they’ll give you Vicodin, Viagra, anything you want because all they care about is the money. You are a number… You have to numb yourself to go on set. The more you work, the more you have to numb yourself. ” - Jersey Jaxin

Working in pornography isn’t the dream job that pornographers want people to believe. And yet because the industry is legally recognized by the government, there is a false sense of security that comes. Not everyone knows about these dirty secrets. The industry even employs their own doctors to supposedly watch over the actors and actresses. Monthly check ups are not sufficient when actors can have multiple shoots with multiple partners in one day. STD’s are a serious issue in the porn industry.

“When I was in the industry, the fear of bodily fluids… was absolutely disregarded… There is no protection or hygiene at all. We weren’t allowed to use condoms. The constant spreading of germs and disease ridden materials is not even considered by the employees of the production companies… (Props, furniture, ‘cleaning’ towels, etc. are) not thoroughly sanitized and or sterilized. That is unsanitary and completely unsafe.” - Trent Roe

Okay so we have rape, coercion, and preventable diseases … what else happens? Oh, just sex trafficking (a.k.a. modern slavery for the sexual purposes), that’s what. You might be thinking, “Wait, that really happens?” Sadly, yes. Sex Trafficking is a $32 billion annual industry. According to the U.N., over 9.7 million people around the world are ensnared in sex slavery at any given time. Guess what the majority of those individuals are forced into doing? You guessed… porn. Their lives are threatened if they don’t make it look like they are there by choice and enjoying what they are doing. That means that millions of men and women, boys and girls all over think they are viewing ‘harmless porn’ when in fact they are literally watching someone being forced against their will to participate in sexual acts.

“I literally became a prisoner, I was not allowed out of his sight, not even to use the bathroom, where he watched me through a hole in the door. He slept on top of me at night, he listened to my telephone calls with a .45 automatic eight shot pointed at me.” - Linda Lovelace

It’s hard to imagine, but could it get any worse? Unfortunately, it can and does. One actress was reported missing after a film session. A month later she was found with multiple stab wounds—with DNA evidence tying the murder to her photographer. Some might think, “That kind of thing happens all over… not just in the pornography industry.” That’s true. However, these stories and testimonies from ex-porn stars are coming out more and more. Some that have escaped have even dedicated their life to speaking out against the industry.

At Fight the New Drug we have received several emails from former porn stars telling us their story. Nearly all of them ask that we keep their identity secret. Here is an example of one of those emails:

“I speak from experience to say there are victims and survivors who have been drugged and forced into this ugliness against their wills? I realize that this statement flies in the face of the mainstream stereotypical mono-thought mentality that porn is voluntary and that 'she likes it', 'she asked for it', 'she chose it'. Although that may be true for some, many are coerced into agreeing with whatever our pornographer says just to stay alive. We have been humiliated beyond description and carry that with us 24/7. Our minds are numbed and in many cases drugged into stupor or amnesia for the painful tearing at our bodies and souls just to be filmed, forever recorded for someone’s sick fantasy to come alive for momentary gratification.

Somewhere in the mix of this atrocity is the understanding that to film a child in a vile or suggestive way is horrendous, but to think that one can film a young woman or adult woman against their will is to believe 'she wants it'. Somewhere in the mix of this is the unspeakable horror of women being filmed while being killed slowly. 'She likes it'??? In the last several years access to inhibitory drugs makes this horror a regular reality and can be attested to by clips on the internet, police investigations, testimonies of survivors, counselors, etc. I can speak of this because I (as well as the other young women filmed during the same time) was drugged before each filming. Sometimes it was with an amnesiac, sometimes with a paralyzing drug, sometimes with pain blockers, and sometimes a crazy combination of all of the above.

We lie to cover up the truth much the same way the victim of domestic abuse lies, conceals, and hides. We do not have the words to speak out because our pain is too graphic and it is next to impossible to describe what happened to us because of the mainstream mentality. We are met with dismissals and denials, with excuses and the rejection statement, 'that could not have happened, because the girls and women look like they enjoy what is happening to them.' Some of us have succumbed to more drug addictions, some to insanity, some to crippling isolation, and some to death.” - Anonymous

Wow. Doesn’t that make you feel a little sick to your stomach? Not only does pornography have harmful effects on the user but the industry itself and those that participate deal with near unspeakable harm to their bodies as well as their souls. The industry’s efforts to portray an atmosphere of glamor, fame, and fortune have allowed them to get away with illegal, unethical, and corrupt behavior. Doesn’t knowing this about the pornography industry make you think twice about using? We think if the truth about the industry was more known that many people would second-guess their habit of supporting a dirty industry.
