This is complete nonsense for two reasons:

1. Modern Bulgarians aren't a proxy for the original Bulgars. Bulgarians are, for all intents and purposes, Balkan Slavs with a peculiar Turkic ethnonym.
2. C-M217, N-M231 and Q-M242 aren't even Turkic markers, they are a very small minority among the haplogroups Central Asian Turks (except Kazakhs) have.

Yes and i see this stupid philosophy in most of the euro-centric genetics articles.

It`s like saying "If there is no east Asian Chinese markers, then there is no Turkic heritage either".
