Chaos in Turkey as police use tear gas and water cannons to put down rioters protesting over Syria

Dozens of demonstrators were faced with tear gas and water cannons by police in Istanbul today as they protested against the Turkish government's policy towards Syria.
Two groups of protesters were marching to Besiktas district near the Dolmabahce Palace on the European side of the city when officers blocked their path, reports the state-run Anatolia News Agency.
Some of the demonstrators, said to be mainly students, tried to climb barriers while police used water cannons and tear gas on the groups. Others took refuge in the historic Dolmabahce Mosque.

Chaos in France as rioters use tear gas and stones to disperse police officers investigating over a rape

Half a dozen policemen were faced with tear gas and stones by immigrants in Marseilles as they tried to solve a rape case.
One group of policemen was marching towards the apartment block where the rape took place near the elevator of the apartment block when illegal immigrants blocked their path, reports the renegade run NoShariaInEurope from Ireland.
Some of the police officers, said to be mainly cowards, tried to enter the elevator while the immigrants used tear gas and stones to push them away. They took refuge in the police station after running a short distance out of the apartment block and into their cars.

No they are not related. It's just a contemporary comparison between Turkish police methods and French police methods. This can explain why the North-Rhine-Westphalians requested from their Turkish colleagues to take over the patrolling of their sensitive areas...

Default Turkish police fire tear gas in worst protests for years

Turkish police fired tear gas and water cannon on Friday at demonstrators in central Istanbul, wounding scores of people and prompting rallies in other cities in the fiercest anti-government protests for years.

Thousands of demonstrators massed on streets surrounding Istanbul's central Taksim Square, long a venue for political unrest, while protests erupted in the capital Ankara and the Aegean coastal city of Izmir.

The unrest reflects growing disquiet at the authoritarianism of Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and his Islamist-rooted Justice and Development Party (AKP).

Riot police clashed with tens of thousands of May Day protesters in Istanbul this month. There have also been protests against the government's stance on the conflict in neighbouring Syria, a tightening of restrictions on alcohol sales and warnings against public displays of affection.

"This isn't just about trees anymore, it's about all of the pressure we're under from this government. We're fed up, we don't like the direction the country is headed in," said 18-year-old student Mert Burge, who came to support the protesters after reading on Twitter about the police use of tear gas.

This is not first time, there has been many many incidents like this but this probably is one of the most major uprising/resistance against the AKP scum up to today, and it will surely grow, as long as they use brutal police force, they will see more people against them. As quoted in article, this is not just about saving trees, it's the uprising of years of traitorious actions made by that disgusting goverment Turkey ever had. I hope more will follow, it's spreading to other cities aswell. Their ugly face is more well known now. They control everything, to cover their disgusting actions up today, but nothing lasts forever hidden.
