Technically, Tunisian Jews (most) aren't Mizrahim, let alone Sefardim, but Maghrebim or "Tochavim" (versus "Megorachim" from Iberia= Sefardim).
Genetically, they are closest to some Moroccan Jews (non-Megorachim) and are similarly both less European-admixed and more North African-admixed than "true" Sefardis are (and more distantly, Ashkenazis).
The Sefardic rite took over among non-Sefardis but it tells nothing about someone's ancestry.
