I doubt a book from 1745 is going to be very accurate.

How can you claim Donelaitis if you don't give a damn about Ruhig?

Ruhig is one of those ministers turned philologists of East-Prussia that wrote about Lithuanian ethnic culture and produced so many dictionaries and grammars: Lepner, Ruhig, Donelaitis, Mielcke. You will find nothing similar in Lithuania proper.
It is philologists that laid the basis of the current Lithuanian state. It is difficult to imagine Lithuania proper without Lithuania Minor.
It is also interesting to trace the concepts that these philologists had when they found out that Lithuanian, Latin and Greek were related. How close did they get to the concept of "Ursprache" and "Urheimat"?
Well, Ruhig speculated that dispersed Greek soldiers somehow might have found their way round the Black sea to the south of Russia and then to Lithuania.
About 50 years later another one developed a full understanding of the very concept that we have today.
