Default Spain vs Italy: who has had the most illustrious history?

Discuss. Today I read on Wikipedia about the Spanish colonization of the Americas, and it was pretty awesome.

Mmmm both are very close however if we take into accont the Roman Empire stage then perhaps Italy, as a matter of fact very few nations could match Italy regarding history and cultural heritage.

The Battle of San Pasqual was a military encounter that occurred during the Mexican-American War in what is now the San Pasqual Valley community of the city of San Diego, California. On December 6 and December 7, 1846, the Californios, and their Presidial Lancers, led by General Don Andres Pico, (1810-1876), defeated Stephen W. Kearny´s US Army column of 150 men.

It's subjective. Italy had the Roman Empire and the Renaissanse. Spain had the spanish empire and everything related to it.

In fact I dont think there's another euro nation that could match Italy regarding historical-cultural heritage with the sole exeption of Greece.

The Battle of San Pasqual was a military encounter that occurred during the Mexican-American War in what is now the San Pasqual Valley community of the city of San Diego, California. That pretty much depends on when you consider that their histories as countries begin.

Dudes nothing beats the Greco-Roman history and heritage simply because the fusion of those two cultures set the base of our modern western world and period.
