We have it too, only it's called Torbar/Čiča (if memory serves me well). My grandparents always used stories about him to scare my sister and me when we get restless. It worked every time.

Tales about Baba Yaga (Baba Roga) were never used against me because my parents didn't like the idea of scaring their children. Nevertheless, Baba Yaga has always been a well known character in these parts.![]()

My parents scared me with Baba Yaga when I was little. But I would say, "Well where is the ugly creature?"
