OK ....I'll start with the native food of my people. ..Appalachian pinto beans with a little fat back or bacon and onion, served with cornbread...simple but filling, nutritional and delicious

My grandfather used to make homemade chili with beans and beef, but it's not something I ever developed a strong preference for, I rarely eat chili.
Split peas are yummy though especially when the peas are still lumpy, not blended

EDIT: I don't know why these pics are posting like this, I tried a different picture and it didn't change anything. The last random attachment is not supposed to be there, that's not my hand, I found the best representation I could of the type of soup
