Not in a computer, but I once thought that I'm the bearer of a "being" who emulates a real life in a non-existing world. I mean, that what exists is just the emptiness, where non-corporal self-conscious elements have fun using its powers to create worlds and living in them, after what they go back to the emptiness and start it all over again.
Unemployment is a hell of a drug.

It's definitely possible. Either one discovers the truth in this lifetime, or one will never know to his grave. One thing we can be certain of though is our own conscious mind and sense of self-awareness, as Descartes put it "I think therefore I am".
