I've heard all Finns are closer to Swedes overall (and vice versa). I've also heard that Eastern Finns are closer to Russians whereas Western Finns are closer to Russians, so this question might be hard to generalize Finland in. So anyways, which is?

It depends. In general they are closer to Russians due to shared Siberian input (around 5-15%), but Southwestern Finns are closer to Swedes.

Western Finns are closer to both Swedes and Russians. North Russians have nothing to do with Finnics that is just some retard internet myth.

They’re just Swedish Mongolians.

Total nonsense. The whole genetic base is completely different. If Russians have Eastern ancestry it comes thru Central Asian Turkics. Finnish Eastern ancentry from North Siberia thru Saami proxy.
On X-Axel which is Finnish versus general Eastern (note that this Eastern ancestry is not really the East Eurasian kind "East" ancestry). WFinns are closer to Swedes than to Russians. On Y-Axel both Finnish groups are closer to Russians than to Swedes.
Note that Russians pull towards the Mordvinian "Turkic cluster". Finnic Eastern pull is towards the Saami.

The Russians didn't mix with Asia until 1917. Russians lived in a peasant community that did not allow interethnic marriages and punished for it - expelled from the community. A man born of Russian and Asian was considered Asian. Therefore, the small peoples of Russia have a Russian mixture. Modern Russians and other Europeans are intensely mixed with other races, which is sad.

They're closer to Northwestern Russians than Swedes due to Siberian admixture (5%-15% in Finns, 10%-27% in Russians). Swedes have little-to-non Siberian admixture. Also don't Northwestern Russians cluster with Finns and Saamis?
