I do not know anything about guns, but my daddy had a sawn-off (?) chrome-plated Colt 45, if that means anything to anyone.
Apparently, he is unable to travel to America because of that.![]()

I have handled firearms for over 49 years; my dad started me off with a single shot .22 when I was 5.
I got my Rifle and Shotgun Merit Badge as a Boy Scout; was latter an instructor for the same.
I was on the rifle and pistol teams in high school and college.
I started hunting (as a "bird dog") when I was 7.
I have a gun smithing diploma, have been a marksmanship, firearms safety, range safety and hunting safety instructor.
I have sold firearms in 6 different US States.
I have worked at 4 weapons related museums.
I carried a gun professionally for 16 years as a civilian security guard (2 years) and military man (5 years from '75 - '80 and 9 years from '83 - '92).
I did very well during annual qualifications on pistols, rifles, shotguns and crew served weaponry. One year, in an "ad hoc" competition, I shot better than a comrade who had been to formal sniper school.
I own more firearms than the anti-gunners believe I should have, but not as many as I'd like to have.
I believe that having the capability to defend oneself, one's family and one's property with deadly force is a Right basic to being a free born man or woman.
With what I own, I can shoot an intruder or game animal within 10 meters or at 1000 meters. For the latter, the tag line is: "Don't run, you'll only die tired."
I have sufficient "fodder" for my "beasts" to stave off a "zombie apocalypse."
I also have the will to "drop the hammer," which I have done in both military and civilian defensive situations.

BTW, if anyone has "interesting" impressions about firearms, ammunition and their effects upon living beings...I am quite the iconoclast vis a vis "super guns."

My favorite competitions...the 1000 yard matches...iron sights only...my eyesight isn't that good anymore.
