If they were not genetically alligned with mainland Greece they would not speak Greek nor raise the Greek flag they would prefer a Levantine language and culture of their own. However this is not the case as genetics drives them, not culture.

Same is true with Pointians

Cypriots from what I've seen are Oriental Hellenes, they lack Thracian and Illyrian influence like Mainland Greeks but are definitely Greeks.
