This is a slap for all those who say that the Slavs didn't settled or were expelled from Greece, cybernautic cough cough, lavrentis cough cough
They not only settled but reached Crete as well!

Man I have nothing against Slavs. Yes they reached Crete but they didn’t seem to leave any significant impact. I have said that there are some toponyms here with Slavic origin, but they’re few, around 20 if I’m not mistaken. I have been to like 3 of those, one is kinda close to my village in Chania region
Anyway Cretan haplogroups for the record. I think most I2a in Crete is basal.

Slavic input in Crete suggests mainland Greek settlement in the last 1000 years. It is doubtful actual Slavic speaking people were in Crete, most likely this Slavic input arrived by people who were already Hellenized.

There are no recorded mainland Greek migrations to Crete if I’m not mistaken.
Some Arvanites are recorded though. An example is the Koundouris family. My aunt is married to one.
The Byzantines settled Rus mercenaries here although the Rus were Vikings with maybe Ukrainian and Baltic input. Might explain some things.

Balkan fellows should understand that when I2a1b arrived in Greece , countries like Serbia and FYROM didnt even exist.
