I don't think people in the real world care about that anthro stuff. They'll most likely be settling west of the Elbe as that's where living standards are higher and where most migrants generally tend to settle.

But if it means anything, many will be going to southeast Germany (Bavaria), its technically west/south of the Elbe, but has a similar genetic/migration history to northeast Germany.

Those are West Slavs who have a similar name by coincidence. The East Slavic Polesians are not the same as Poles from Poland.

Though I guess you're probably joking.

Ukrainians are East Slavs who underwent some Polish influence, so they're already partly West Slavic-influenced. Might as well Westernise them some more.

Some Upper Sorbs also plot with Ukrainians, but some are more western-shifted.

    PS:

Lower Sorbs are in Brandenburg, Upper Sorbs in Saxony.

Official genetic studies only tested Upper Sorbs so far.

Interesting how much more diversity R1a has in Europe compared to Asia. Probably has a lot to do with the Asian R1a clades being less extensively tested.

The Sorbs are probably survivors of isolated Slavic populations that didn't mix with Germans. The Polabian Slavs of the Middle Ages were probably slightly more western-shifted than Poles.

One can't say that for sure without aDNA, although some slavic tribes from he northwest are considered to have asimilated remaining Germanic inhabitants (see Warini:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warini).

And also - depends on Poles we are talking about. Masovians - easily, I think. Poles from Greater Poland? I am skeptical.
