When China becomes the No 1 economy, will East Asians replace Whites as the global beauty standard?

Hard to see Chinese becoming a global language too like the big 3 western Euro languages have been. Even a lot of educated/upper class Chinese people can't read/write most of their own language.

I don't know if I said anything before but east asians have the capacity to rival whites it wouldn't surprise me if asians become more popular and desired which they are now too but even more. Completely dominating the world likely not it would be more split China will need a Hollywood for that though not only a good economy

Yes, but Whites aren't the majority in Brazil (and never have been), yet make up the bulk of people you see on TV, in magazines and in films. Anyway, one reason why I think my hypothesis might eventually prove to be true is that (although I might be wrong) I don't think that the Chinese in particular, and East Asians in general, have quite the same complexes regarding light skin and European facial features that many South Asians, MENAs and non-white Latin Americans do.

Even the wealthier classes in Brazil are full of East Asians, Arabs and in particular mixed-race people of various sorts. The main difference between the wealthier and poorer classes in Brazil is the near-absence of Blacks among the former compared to the latter. Indeed, it is ironic how in Britain the most common interracial relationships are White-Black, whereas in Brazil (and the US) they are probably the least common.

But back to topic. Chinese people are by and large a very proud and ethnocentric bunch. Contrary to the histrionics regularly found in this forum and elsewhere, they will be the biggest challengers (perhaps one could even say threats) in the future to Western countries and cultures, not Africans or Arabs.

This with the caveats that: the china and its people we "know" or rather imagine we know today looking from outside will be very different 20 years from now, in ways we can't even predict.

chinese to me can look extremely varied, and they tend to ignore or downplay their potential ancestry, which may not even be han. maybe someone has details, but i assume the look they go for is something stereotypical from shanghai to beijing. im guessing they don't take south west sichuan or inner mongolians as the standard of beauty.

perhaps its different for males?
