I remember last years of the Soviet regime. I lived near one of 2 or 3 places in Moscow where students from Africa and Latin America resided... Common people around genially referred to the place as "zverinetz" - a zoo, and there was a lot of speculation whether they chop their tails off in the Sheremetievo international airport or not and what not

Though there probably wouldn't be so much non-white immigration, you probably would get stuck with a large Russian population. While Russians are less intelligent and industrious as other whites (but not noticeably uglier than Englishmen) they are far better than any negroe, paki, or semite.

Possibly, although Britain has been much more contact with the rest of the world than the other countries the USSR took over, which were mostly landlocked backwaters with little history of contact with countries other than immediate neighbors.

One thing which is quite likely to happen is a mass exodus of the upper and middle classes as happened in Cuba, possibly followed by large segments of the working class, to the west via Ireland. If they are able to that is: the one time that the USSR did take over a technologically advanced country (Eastern Germany), they stripped the country of industrial machinery and hauled it back home, they would like have done the same thing to Britain, and would probably have wanted to bring Britain's scientists and technicians back with them to operate it.

So, if Britain ran out of workers before it ran out of food, the USSR may well have brought in foreign workers from former British colonies, especially if they thought it would help break down resistance from the British, and also to train an advanced cadre for further expansion into the English-speaking world.

Also, the rest of Europe would have fallen to the USSR in quick order, as the entire US strategy for a possible war with the USSR, similar to that in the 2 world wars, was based on having Britain as a secure base, and secure supply lines in the Atlantic.

For this reason, it is unlikely that even Carter would have allowed a USSR takeover of Britain. The US had a number of bases and a large amount of troops stationed in Europe at the time, for the purpose of fighting a war as soon as the USSR invaded any NATO country. Even if Carter didn't want to fight, rogue elements in the military or other NATO countries would likely have touched off a bigger war.
