Depression is usually a completely hopelessness that is caused by a feeling that you can't escape from the anxiety that's been bothering you. It starts out as anxiety which overcomes you and then leaves you hopeless and with no desire for anything. Even the anxiety isn't exactly there like it was. At least that's how I understand it

You probably have more other psychological problems than depression, like accelerated thoughts, i guess.
Btw, in our modern world, with the domination of sedentarism and hedonism, many people refugiate in mommentary pleasures like sex, games, TV, music, etc in order to be estimulated but with that they ate just lyong lying to their minds. Huge mistake. We cannot be on a trully good mood if we are not living on present with full attention.
Because the only things that matters to us are the ones of the present momment, everything else is an illusion.
The place is here and the hour is now.
we should be happy without over dosis of estimulation, like childrens, when we were children we didn't needed to much things to be on good mood because we were the good mood's personification. That shows that happiness comes from inside, not outside.
Don't think too much, practice more slow activities such as conversations, practice both mentally and physically exercices, etc.
Also, meditation is very important like War Chief mentioned.
Just put your self on good mood on any situation and remember that what matters is the long term, in the future you will look at the past and realize that things were not as bad as you thought.

I totally agree. Now you simply do not have the right to a (open) manifestation of depression so as not to set a bad example for a child. Although small, he already understands the fluctuations of energy. It is a well-known fact that a personality is formed in the first 3 years, further only the development of what we have.
In my case, depression was significantly weakened after leaving job, but this option is not for everyone.
