After the abdication of King Louis Philippe I of the French in 1848, there was some effort to put his grandson on the throne under the name of Louis Philippe II.
The little boy's mother, Helene of Mecklenburg-Schwerin would have been regent.
This did not occur. The French Second Republic was proclaimed.
The grandson was Louis Philippe Albert (1838-1894).
He was the Count of Paris. Upon the Count of Chambord's demise inn 1893, Philippe was recognized by most monarchists as Philippe VII of France.
What is Philippe's correct title: Louis Philippe II or Philippe VII?
ouh lŕ lŕ!
