In my region they are called Hungaros. They pretty much keep to themselves. Nobody messes with them.

Many of them do Tarot and work with other “lucky issues”.

They are called Hungaros all over Mexico because they came from Hungary.. The Hungaros would sometimes rent my dad's land he had in the city of San Luis Potosi for their circus. That's what my aunt told us ,when we visited her in SLP.



Gypsies were stereotyped in Mexico for stealing children, but they aren't hated on.

They are not common in Uruguay so there isn't an important opinion on them, but they're per se associated with pickpocketing and scams, like petty non violent crimes .
