But I hope you will agree with me that they are largely more Fenchs lighter than Spanish, than Spanish lighter than Frenchs.

I mean, most of Spaniards are darker than most of Frenchs.

The French who are darker than the Spanish will be as small a minority as the Moroccans who may be lighter than the Spanish.

And we have a good proportion of Spaniards that are as light as Frenchs, but also many Spaniards that are as dark as Moroccans.
