He's shooting himslef in the foot at 1:44. And though he's probably right, we can't make statements like that if we follow the scientific rigour. He's a biologist, not a physicist. And we know next to shit about physics right now. Dawkins isn't qualified to speak abot such things. Valée pointed that out. Hynek pointed that out. At best we can say that we don't know and that's a perfectly reasonable answer when we actually don't. Both hardcorce darwinist like Dawkins and religionists commit to this fallacy to know all the answers.

That's not my issue, I'm no anti-theist he obviously is, despite me being an atheist. But vitriol isn't the reason on my part. Lack of evidence is. Also, didn't I mention the scientist with a reasonably open mind, but not open enough not to see reason? Again, as for Dawkins, he is just as biased as the rest of the most modern academia. We have many things to correct.

God is an imaginary creation of humans created in our minds to explain things we could not understand and to impart control on other humans often in strictly political ways. IIRC you were an atheist long time ago on this forum, what made you believe in God ever since? Or is that just a dedicated act on your part?![]()

What? You did not quite take a position on what I raised in my reply that you quoted. Have you tried to familiarise yourself with that James Leininger story? And yes, believing in soul does not have to be contradictory to not believing in God / gods. Also even if God / some higher being was responsible for creating the world that we know it does not have to mean that it currently has any influence on the course of events. That is something that I strictly do not agree with, what I find entirely nonsensical btw.

Yeah, I am just going to take an agnostic stance on that one.
I am aware dude. People believe all sort of things. I ask purely out of curiosity. So is soul according to your belief of natural or supernatural origin? I know I ask a stupid question since I guess according to you it has to be of natural origin. So when a person dies its soul floats around until it bonds to a sperm? And yes, believing in soul does not have to be contradictory to not believing in God / gods.
Well obviously. Aren't those people deists? Also even if God / some higher being was responsible for creating the world that we know it does not have to mean that it currently has any influence on the course of events. That is something that I strictly do not agree with, what I find entirely nonsensical btw.

When you believe in God and begin to know him, you will see the world through different eyes. Then you will realise how precious and beautiful life is, and how marvelous God's creation. And you will also know that we believers are merely passing through this stage in our existence, and that a heavenly and perfect future is coming, when this current fallen world would no longer exist, but be replaced by a new world where evil would no longer exist to pollute it and spoil it.
This current stage is necessary to select those diamonds out of the rough, who will inherit everything in God's new world. There will be a sifting and sorting, when the true followers of Jesus will be separated from the rest, who will be destroyed in eternal torment in hell.

You don't know what you're talking about, my friend. I pray to God that he would open your eyes, so you can see the truth.
Yes, I used to be a dedicated atheist, but then I found Jesus. He can change your life too, as he did mine. I can see the truth now, back then in my atheist days I was spiritually blind and ignorant. It is Jesus who makes the difference.
