When I voted for Brexit in 2016, right up till the last hour or so I was still wondering whether it would be better to stay in the EU and try to reform it into something resembling an actual European union, existing for the benefit of Europeans, but in the end I decided it would be impossible to reform, and needs to be completely replaced. But it was only after the vote, and experiencing how Brexit supporters were treated by the UK political elites, that I became sure I'd voted the right way. Everything the EU has done since then has only confirmed this.
