Despite being Serb, I consider myself neutral when it comes to Russia.
I do understand that there are strong ties, but that relationship did not always work when it comes to my country.
I support this current thing in Ukraine because whatever damages the collective west, gives my country breathing space.

Now when it comes to Putin, surely he is decent upgrade from what we had before. But country at large still has many oligarchs who got their money from stealing natural resources, and although he is praised for dealing with them, in reality - he only dealt with those who did not bend the knee, or he did not personally like. And they were replaced by new elite of his friends & advisors.

I believe that Russia as a country must be ruled with an iron fist, such is their nature and such are their traditions. Whenever Russia went away from having a strong figure at home, it almost always spelled bad times.

If Putin would actually tackle this corruption in his inner circle ( starting with him of-course ) and would actually be laser focused on creating a very efficient, corrupt-free, economically sound Russia ready to tackle the collective west, I would applaud him.

My grandfather was in a British concentration camp as a 9 year old boy during Lord Kitchener's "scorched earth" policy of cracking down on Boer civilians, women and children. What I noticed is some posters argument is based on their personal baggage. It has nothing to do with 21st century geopolitics.

I'm no fan of Russia but I am a fan of objectivity. I understand if Mexico was basically part of a foreign 'defensive' alliance (even though it isn't official Ukraine basically has been part of NATO since 2014) with a nation that was antagonistic to the US there is no doubt the US military would be in Mexico.

That is the reality. This conflict has nothing to do with people's personal family history. Dragoon is Polish and I'm sure he has some issues with Russia/Soviet Union historically but he's living in 2023 and can make the distinction. Different people and different agendas than a century ago. Most people can't see past their own personal baggage.

We live in a world of entertainment and war is a part of it. That's why they call it the "theatre of war" and it costs a shit tonne of money. Iraq was a million dollars a day but thank God they found Saddam's weapons of mass destruccshioonnnnn. Yankee doodle fucking dandy.
