Default Polish DNA - Myheritage vs. GedMatch K36

    Hello,

I got my DNA swab taken from Myheritage and they created predictions for me. (I am Polish, from north west Poland). The result was : 50% Eastern European, 25% Baltic and 25% Scandinavian. As the related groups I got: Poland, Czechia, Eastern Germany and Hungary

I found it weird that I match with Czechs and Hungarians because I have 0% Balkan in my DNA and therefore my DNA results should actually put me to more northern groups, right? I guess north-east would be right because of my high Balto-Slavic percentage. So I imported my raw data into GedMatch and did the Eurogenes K13 test and also some others and those showed me more plausible results: The Ukrainian City Zhotomyr, Belarus, north Eastern Poland and also a lot of DNA from the Finno-Ugric Moksha tribe.

On the one hand I want to stick to my more plausible results, on the other hand Myritage is the one who created my raw data, so actually they should know better, right?

    Maybe someone can help me

Could you send me your K13 and K36?

I noticed that according to MH EE is common for Poland, Baltic is more NE like Masuria, Belarus. I have only 13% EE and 50% Baltic. The rest is Scandinavia and some Balkan.
Genetic groups are more accurate than ethnicity estimate, but still not ideal. For example - I have genetic group common in northern Germany, but my mom not. It's not accurate.
I have also genetic group with Jews. But I don't have Jewish ancestry.

Czechs and Hungarians are not Balkan though. Your results are normal

Completely correct result. The Czech cluster is much smaller than the Polish one, hence the apparent proximity to the Czech center.

With G25, or to be more precise with MH file is one problem.
I tested my grandmother with MH, she is Polish and 25% Prussia and Lower Saxony and according to G25 she is even not in Polish cluster. She is in Baltic cluster.

Interesting. Did you do any comparative test other than MH on the same sample?

    Thanks for your replies, guys!

As you can see in my K13 results, Eurogenes puts me much more north east than Myheritage does. Click image for larger version.
