There is a correlation between lower socioeconomic background and obesity. The reasons being that there are more fast food outlets in those areas as well as fewer opportunities for physical activity.

Less true than it used to be in the latter: gym culture is increasingly taking off among the middle and upper classes throughout the Third World, and parts of Latin America and the Pacific in particular have pretty high obesity rates now.

Being partly Baltic myself and spending time with a lot of Baltic people (north eastern polish, Belarusians, Lithuanians, Latvians ) I have to kinda agree with you. I also heard that liposuction is very popular among them. Recently a new surgery technique became popular, called buccle fat removal to get rid of the big cheeks where they suck out the fat of your cheeks. A lot of Lithuanian surgeons advertise it on their website as it’s on huge demand.

I think is than more a matter of bad eating ,the more you eat transformed foods from hard discount supermarkets like ALDI/LIDL etc the more you became more than chubby with 10/15% of overweight fat like me ,look how many shitty hard discounters they have in northern europe and in germany,now in my suburbia in a town not far from i live in a complex of different shops we have ,even, a fucking Costco Wholesale Corporation ,one of the kings of the worse transformed junk food recently implanted , and if the people are spending their time seated behind a desk and spending their time driving etc... don't be surprised
guess who own COTSCO? now the french low life surburbians will goes spending they hard earning money for them,jeez!

i do my groceries at E.LECLERC (a french franchise) and hell no in the hard discounters,i tried ALDI just a couple of times two years ago ,never more,fruits sucks to the max (bananas are knocked to death for ex ) different E.LECLERC supermarkets ,last one is the one of Paris

Monsieur, on my trip to France I went to E.LECLERC and it was nothing more than a poor man's Whole Foods. Even most of the produce came from the US. Whack ass bananas. You should see the produce in the stores I shop at Marcel Marceau, they would knock your beret off and it ain't Costco. You don't even know about the high end stores in the US but they got products so fine they would make a French woman wet.
