As my surname is translatable to any language I have been playing with its translation in some languages such as Spanish, Catalan, French and when comparing it with the journey of my DNA and there is some consistency. I have tried this technique since in my family there is an oral tradition of a change of surname or maybe it would have been a translation of the original, I can not know.
In Spanish
Dos posibilidades, directo con cambio de apellido o castellanización del apellido catalán.
In reserve since my father had an Italian ancestor appear in 23andMe . And as I said, it is also available in translation in Poland, Germany, Switzerland.
You are frozen, petrified, evidently Gallop will not rest until he finds it.

E-V22 - E-BY7449 - E-BY7566 - E-FT155550
According to oral family tradition E-FT155550 comes from a deserter of Napoleon's troops (1808-1813) who stayed in Spain and changed his surname.

Paternal Surname (Originally Northern English/Southern Scottish in origin):
Maternal Surname (French origin):
“The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.”
