Muscle is good. My experience is that adding fat to one's diet can be mitigated by cutting back on bread and starches. Take the top bun off a burger and avoid catsup, and one can slop on all the bacon and cheese one desires.
Cheese and Meat are the basis of most low-carb diets. Low-carb diets seem to be the most successful Maybe that is why there are so many fat Vegans.

No sugar here, been using aspartame but now I hear it eventually causes brain farts, so a sweet tooth seemingly can't win! Oh well, cutting back to half a packet oughta buy me more time...I guess. Anyway, they probably jam the stuff down the lab rats' throats in massive amounts, so, maybe I should ignore the apocalyptic news?

The chemical nature of aspartame MAY get you in the long run but added processed sugar will get you in the here and now. Screaming "aspartame is from the Devil" while gobbling down Reeses Peanut butter cup after Reeses Peanut butter cup will kill you off long before the aspartame has a chance to damage your mind.

Just think common sense style; when does sugar occur most naturally in the human diet? With fiber. Also, we know that protein causes sugar to be released at an acceptable rate. Eat sugar with protein and fiber.
Eat fat. I hate to mention it, but if you'll pay attention, your poop floats when it's full of fat, which means it was expelled when your body couldn't absorb that much fat.
Fat in the body occurs from excess carbs, again, not whole grains filled with protiens, but white bread which overloads your body with sugars with no sustainable release.
Aspartame destroys your leptin receptors, the things that let you know when you are full. Sugar without controlled release from protien destroys your hormones and your gut.
Why do some people eat sugar all the time and not get fat? Because they have higher tolerance to carbs, it is genetic. Even these people can detroy their bodies and become fat later.
In short, do not consume aspartame, eat sugar with fiber and protein, and eat healthy fats.

I believe you, but it is still a thing. I used to make "fat smoothies" and drink them twice a day, one right before bed with alcohol to slow down my metabolism, on top of sickeningly heavy meals and couldn't gain a sibgle pound. I don't do that anymore because I no longer think anything is wrong with being skinny. Some people are just like this. I am now within bmi because I gained some muscle. This is after having two children lol

The blood sugar spikes cause the major problems. Fiber and protein slow the rate of sugar absorption. If one sits and eats 3 oranges in a row, they will cross that line. However, one orange will satisfy the sweet tooth without the craving for more sugar in a few minutes. Too much PROCESSED flour can react the same way.
I have done well with cutting out added sugar and cutting my bread and starch consumption in half.
2 tsp of sugar in a pot of pasta sauce does not hold up to "zero tolerance". But I'm okay with it especially if I use the sauce for chicken cacciatore as opposed to just pasta.
My belief is that some people have abused their privilege of eating added sugar and they should lay off it until they get down to a manageable weight. If they are unable to then there could be deeper problems at work.
