Yes in both maternal and paternal sides some branchs go to charlemagne, i heard it's common that europeans descend from him.

I suppose to some extent I do. I don’t know for sure of any noble families in my pedigree, except for a possible descent from the Von Hahn family from a part of my German side.

I think the genetic isopoint is like a 1000 years back, so if you have European blood any given European that lived 1000 years ago you are the ancestor of that person. I also got super excited when I first found out I had tons of royal ancestry, but then found out it's not particularly special. The only thing somewhat unique about it is to be able to document it.
