Default Christmas faitgue: When is it too early to decorate for Christmas?

I think anything before Thanksgiving is way too early, but IMO, even decorating before mid December is pushing it. I am a Christan so I observe the Christian Christmas which is really December 25th- January 6th. We don’t get our tree til mid December (after the 12th) and we don’t really super decorate until at least a week before Christmas. I like to get a “taste” of the holidays after Thanksgiving, but what happens is people get sick of Christmas before it even arrives. I think it has to do with the commerical Christmas that starts as early as after Halloween. Even 20 years ago, it wasn’t like this. It happens when we take the Christ out of Christmas. And I realize people will say Christmas is “pagan”- they are wrong and very mistaken. It is not! And it’s a real Christian holiday. I like to take it slow and relaxed and reflect on the spiritual aspect of it all. I don’t even play any “Christmas” music until December 20th.

I'm Christian but I think the secular parts of Christmas are still fun. I do agree that they are really pushing it by starting the commercial stuff in October. But I don't mind the commercial stuff in general. If you're American then any time after Thanksgiving is fine to decorate. Or beginning of December. I don't ever play Christmas music though that shit is annoying.

There is a reason why "freedom of religion" is in the First Amendment of the American Constitution. I respect how other people celebrate the Holidays. Most people respect how I celebrate mine. Too often these days people cop the attitude "If you aren't celebrating it my way, you are celebrating it wrong". All that seems to do is fill the people who cop that attitude with anger and resentment. Let these "Mister Correct" types stew in their self-made bile. Just because they choose to limit their Holiday Spirit, they don't have to limit mine.

    In mid-November, I couldn't wait any longer.

According to oral family tradition E-FT155550 comes from a deserter of Napoleon's troops (1808-1813) who stayed in Spain and changed his surname.

Literally. The desire to be oppressed is so strong among them too. Like no you are not oppressed because companies start selling Christmas stuff in early November. Some people just like celebrating Christmas for two months straight lol. It's their right.

That wouldn't make sense. Christmas is supposed to be 12 days. The return of the Magi Kings would be on the January 6th- 12th night. In some parts of Europe they still have Munsfords plays and 12th night parties.

It may not make sense to you, but it does for the people who celebrate it that way. You are in the vast minority of people who continue to celebrate Christmas beyond January 1st of the New Year.

    You do you.
