US by a country mile, because it can adapt, and if you want to escape the woke stuff live in a rural area.

Most importantly however, regardless of anything else, is the attitude to animal welfare. Many older Chinese people have virtually zero empathy to animals and no animal welfare laws hardly at all.

Chinese traditional crap is wiping out elephants, rhinos, sharks, pangolins etc, extracting bile from bears trapped in cages for their entire lives and a horrendous attitude to dogs.

What makes me most proud of the UK is the fact it was the first country in the world to introduce animal welfare laws and has the best laws and attitudes to this anywhere. This was then exported to the colonies. Gandhi was right about this.

The Chinese literally act like Orcs when it comes to animals. So because of this alone, the US by a million miles.

    The USA.

The society and the living conditions (not the composition of the population) there in broad strokes are to my taste. What I dislike and criticise much is the foreign policy. And no, I would not do the same foreign policy if I had the opportunity to that.

I enjoy living in the US part-time.
The US is the most interesting and fascinating place I have lived (personal opinion),
and I love the convenience and (mostly) high standard of living and basic freedom.
    One of my favourite places

I would not live there full-time or permanently,
the taxes are high for me (but lower than Europe) and the money is wasted.
The Internal Revenue Service is disturbing.
Residents and citizens living abroad owe money on foreign income that does not enter the US,
even while not living in the US, very disturbing, for me at least.

The long-term political situation is concerning but better than China obviously.
Sadly the US seems to be in decline for some time, which does not suggest a good future.
Hopefully America's fortunes can be reversed!

Of course I would never live in a communist dictatorship,
except maybe cautiously Hong Kong (which is open to the world) if I had the opportunity.
