In most British towns and cities, immigrants and ethnic minorities are more concentrated in central areas than suburbs. However, the one ironic exception is London, where the huge amount of gentrification of most areas of Inner London has meant that many of the outer suburbs have seen rapidly increasing percentages of ethnic minorities and immigrants. In particular, the boroughs of Hillingdon, Hounslow, Brent, Harrow, Waltham Forest, Barking & Dagenham (formerly the main enclave of London's White working-class, but now one of the least White boroughs in the city), Redbridge, Enfield and Greenwich.
