Find your average eye color

I was bored and messing around with an in-browser free Photoshop clone called Photopea and decided to do this, it is something this place is interested in, so I will post it here as well. You need to be on a computer (I mean you could do on mobile, but it would be really painful). The instructions are in the spoiler; it takes maybe 5 minutes. If you are lazy I will do it for you

If you know how to use Photoshop you probably don't need this explained but xd, do this there if you'd like.

Start with your picture. You should probably use a better one than this, but it doesn't matter that much. Your results will probably be more interesting if you take your picture outside in natural light, or in front of a light source... I again didn't do this, I am lazy, but do what I say not what I do ok...


Put your picture in the background remover at remove.bg. Now it will look like this:


Import it into Photopea. Now, go to the left side and pick the eraser tool. Adjust the size in the top left until it is the size of your pupil (the black part of your eye), then in one erasure just delete it.


Make sure you have your layer selected (click on it on the right if you don't), then go into the search bar and type 'average'; it will give you an option for filter > blur > average. Now you are done.

This could be useful to matching the lightness/darkness of your eye overall to an eye color chart— Milkaner will be summoned by this, so I have stolen his Martin scale picture in advance:



But honestly I just grabbed the hex code (mine was #533c2a) and put it in https://colornamer.robertcooper.me/:



Also tried https://colornames.org/, but it was unnamed there, so I left my mark...


With a brighter lighting conditions picture:



First is original, second is the Photopea average, third is a Photoshop average I tried.

night gull grey so 10 i think. Not sure if it worked too well for me though, my eyes are more grey green but its surely more grey nowadays

You saw a phot of my eyes in a previous thread when you were looking at eye SNPs. Which number would you say matches mine?

The method seems complicated, but my eye color is uncharted in these scales from what i've seen.
