The Irish are currently in vogue in the US. They have defeated the WASP.
American humor is basically Jewish and Irish Catholic.

That reminds me of this quote by Brendan Behan.
"Other people have a nationality. The Irish and the Jews have a psychosis."
I'm trying to find something Billy Connolly also said about the Irish and the Jews having the best humour but I can't find that one at the moment.
I did find this and it created a lot of anger from Scots which I can understand because I do think Scots have a great sense of humour.
