True. The official translation of the US to Japanese is "America" for example but... That does not apply to us south Americans so you'll never see me saying "American" to talk about a citizen of the US. We normally use "gringos" but due to past experience I've noticed that word is even more unpleasant to you lol

When you say Americanized, I would assume that you meant someone who is not American but acts it.
