    False. Stop coping

...And most dominicans (now a days) leave the island not out of necessity but laziness.
For instance, my situation is none of the above, my parents came here at first as an adventure to explore and such and ended up staying, back in DR dad had his own architectural business and mom was a stay-at-home mom/ part time banker, the economy was decent, and we had money.
DR has its flaw, lots of it, but mainly when it comes to the f*** crime and the inefficiencies in both the private and public sectors, other than that it's booming economically, and you have everything to need to live comfortably and feel like you're in a first world nation if you're in a good decent area somewhere in the country.

Liberal democracy is an Anglo thing, and does not apply to an unstable or poor country.
Caudillos ideally help to stabilise a country and society,
establishing the rule of law and creating economic prosperity,
which are preconditions for liberal democracy in the first place.

We can see how successful caudillismo is in El Salvador currently,
compared to the liberal democratic alternative.
Also notice how Ecuador is moving in this direction, possibly even Argentina.
Even the leftist authoritarian regimes are a form of caudillismo that is ironically more acceptable to left-liberal intellectuals.

The least beneficial anti-communist caudillos are those that are obscenely corrupt,
or those who are the "Peronist" type,
who expand government and spend too much money that they do not have,
leading to debt and long-term high inflation like in Argentina or Turkey.

Damn, lady, you really get us. Thank you.

But yeah, Caesarism is part and parcel of our cultural idiosyncracies, and I'd say, this also runs true for the rest of the Latin world, generally speaking.

It never was. And there have been incremental improvements since the last HDI study in 2021 - it is better than Bolivia now, for starters.

PS: obviously it shares cultural ties with the frontier, but that's it.

What do you mean? Even in Northern/NE Brazil, the middle classes are overwhelmingly White (or light Pardos at most).

Brazil at 0.760 kinda suprised me, bcs i saw a projection by states that were abt 0.800 in most states:

By that map Brazil its abt 0.808, but idk if its a reliable source.

    Dad: 57 - 61% Iberian/MENA, 34 - 37% SSA, 5 - 6% NAM
    Mom: 41 - 44% Iberian/MENA, 55 - 58% SSA, 0 - 2% NAM.
