Humans didn't evolve from monkeys, we just have a common ancestor 25 millions of years ago.

Even if it was the case, who would deny dogs descend from wolves? God didn't create Chihuahua (thank God). We are not that special and different just because we have a higher level of consciousness than other living species.

And every other species that are obviously related yet nobody argues about. Evolution is not a buffet where you pick what you like and disklike. I can't even begin to imagine if we discover alien life someday what kind of epistemological shock it would be for some. Not only we are not special but there is also a fair chance similar or even superior beings exist elsewhere.

No one has ever claimed we're "just like monkeys" in the sense you're putting forth. We're also much closer genetically to apes than we are monkeys. Do you think all the fossil records we've found that support evolution are simply fabricated?
