Lack of Self-criticism often blaming others for their problems rather than trying to fix it.

It is not because of dictators that the Arab world is backwards. Now they have democratic elections, and who get´s the votes?? The muslim brothers!!!

But how honest are these elections and are, in some cases, the votes not the result of the Muslim Brothers being the one that have resisted the dictatorship since the day of their very foundation ?

Good point. Some of the worlds greatest ancient civilizations rose out of that hot and dry climate. I'm not buying the climate excuse. It has to be religion.

If it was "religion" then Islam would have died out with in a century or two, just like dozens of other faiths we all stopped caring about at the turn of our era

More detailed answer would include social inequalities, over population, lack of jobs and opportunity to acquire usable skills and education and off course the kleptocrats which survive only thanks combination of these (without the overpopulation that is).

are you talking about the muslims? if so,yes,now most of the areas are third world...but Europe was third world just 200 years ago,we have to look at history.Most of those regions have great rich cultures

Read my post again and 200 years ago Europe was at it's peak. Europans represented 34% of Earth's population and controlled nearly all of it's land mass. I wouldn't call that third world.

Most of those regions had great cultures and I count amongst them the medieval Islamic one, today they have jack-shit. Today they want to recreate something even the first Caliphs fought against tooth and nail against.
