New research shows that Ludwig Nohl found some of Beethoven's notations and used them to compose a piece called ‘For Elisa’.
![]() Ludwig van Beethoven might not be the author of the famous music piece called ‘For Elisa’. The real author of the beautiful composition is Ludwig Nohl, a young German musicologist, who in 1865 discovered Beethoven’s manuscript and used it to create his ‘For Elisa’. The composition was released 40 years after Beethoven's death and it does not match the other score notes done by the famous composer, Italian La Stampa writes. This is the conclusion that Luca Chianti presented at the University of Barcelona after researching the topic for 8 years. Chianti offers a number of factors that indicate that Nohl used Beethoven’s notes to “compose” a new song. Coincidentally, I was listening to Für Elise earlier today. I'd still take the assertion with a grain of salt, in any case.
