It's just variation within the group, and also it depends on the calculator - Dodecad V3 puts me closest to AJ, for example

Yes, but that's due to parallel ancestry, not descent. AJs are admixed though (from the "original" Jews, but definitely not with Sicilians)

Well I believe it is from an R1b-like (so, very red-haired) population.

Ashkenazim are about as red-haired as Belgians, but Belgians are over 60% R1b whereas AJs are only 15%, so there must be R1b-like admixture on the maternal AJ side that is lacking among Belgians.

I, personally, hugely disagree with the whole Israelite + Italian = Ashkenazi, as that absolutely does not account for why Ashkenazim are so red-haired.

So, it would be the original Israelite males + women from a pure R1b tribe (not from a tribe that is R1b men + non-R1b (yeah, ik R1b is only Y DNA) women, as is the case in Europe today).

If I had to take a punt, I would guess that this admixture took place either in the Balkans or in Anatolia - back then, red hair would have been much much much more common in those regions, as R1bs wouldn't have yet fully mixed with the prev. Neolithic Med. inhabitants (e.g. Thracians were described as red-haired and blue-eyed, yet nowadays both are extremely rare in Bulgaria).

That is just a guess though, but I'm pretty thoroughly convinced on the whole original Israelite males + women from a pure R1b tribe theory (so Jews have the original R1b mtDNA to explain their high rufosity that cannot be explained by their small-ish amount of Y DNA R1b, if that makes any sense)

Not to mention pale, as AJs are considerably paler than Italians from all regions - I look like a ghost. I think the original R1b mtDNA theory is a pretty good one.

I'm roughly 30% English/North European, 70% Greek/South European from what I know and have gathered.

To be honest I've seen some Macedonians getting even higher Italian score.
But I think it depends where from your ancestry is.
For example all of my ancestry is from Salonika/Solun region or todays North-Central Greece.
Other people who have ancestry from more northern places get less Italian score.
Geography and genetics are proportional.

Interesting. From what I have seen, on average only Albanians, Italians and Greeks score this high. Perhaps the case is different in some isolated regions. My family is from Okshtun i Vogel, Diber Vogel, in Albania. It is part of northern Albania, but more on the southern end. Albanians tend to score 22-24 on average. Tuscans around 24-26(highest overall average). Perhaps there are some outliers like us within each group.
