1) On this chart it is clear that the red "Afroasiatic" Near Eastern component is higher in Spain than in mainland Greece or Albania, likely due to North African and indirect Levantine affinity. It would, if sampled, be higher in Portugal than it is in Spain here.

Greeks and South Italians seem to score high Caucasus, and Albos/Arbereshe form a separate cluster due to high Sardinian.

Interestingly the mainland Greeks have more Sardinian than do the Cretans, Dodecanese, and southern Italians.

Where is Spain?

It was not in the same chart so it was difficult to analyze in the same way. But Spain is in the first chart, where you can see the red component surpasses that of Albania and mainland Greece.

Spain would be at the top of IE input too.

Correct. But it is interesting to me that the Spanish have as much of the Arabian/Levantine/Berber component as do Cretans, Dodecanese, and the lower end of the southern Italian spectrum (Trapani, Basilicata, Apulia).

So Palermitans are some of the more MENA Sicilians, but they're not the most MENA Sicilians.

They are if you include Caucasus input as theirs is quite high. Palermo also has low North Euro, even despite supposed Norman input which appears extremely small.

Depends on what you mean by IE. If you mean Yamnaya, no. If you mean central Euro Bell Beaker or something, probably.

I still maintain what I said before: Sicilians/Calabrese appear to basically be Cypriots with ~10% Steppe, and are differentiated from Albanians and mainland Greeks more clearly.

Cypriots could be 1/2 Sicilian, 1/2 Lebanese.

Basically, yes. That is how they come out.

Though this study seems to show them closer to Sicily than to Cyprus. If there was a part of Sicily completely devoid of Steppe input they would plot near Cyprus.
